Grampians Health honours long-serving staff and community members in Stawell

Grampians Health Stawell celebrated the dedication and commitment of our staff and community members at a special ceremony held to honour those who have completed significant periods of service.

Around 26 staff members who have completed 10 and more years of service were honoured at the event. CEO Dale Fraser, along with members of the executive team and Grampians Health board, visited Grampians Health Stawell for award presentations and an afternoon tea.

The highlight of the event was the recognition of Debra Barry, who has completed a remarkable 45 years of service at our hospital. Throughout her time at Grampians Health Stawell, as part of the Operating Suite, Debra’s unwavering commitment to excellence in patient care has made her an invaluable asset to both her team and the community.

Allied Health team member Nicole Nicholson, who completed 40 years of service, was also honoured at the event.

Mr Fraser presented the service awards, expressing admiration and gratitude on behalf of the organisation.

“These individuals have dedicated their lives to the care and health of others, which is already a noteworthy path,” he said.

“It takes a great deal of character to remain with one organisation, growing and adapting over many years. It’s a credit to these staff, but also to the culture they’ve helped create; our Stawell community is in experienced and capable hands.”

Grampians Health also presented the Life Governor award, which is an honour bestowed on staff members, remarkable volunteers, donors, and consumer representatives who have demonstrated outstanding commitment, dedication, and support to the organisation.

Pam Byron, Stawell Hospital Auxiliary member, and Ms Nicholson were appointed Life Governors at the event.

Grampians Health extends its heartfelt thanks to all honourees for their unwavering dedication and service. Their contributions have helped us to elevate the quality of healthcare service to our communities.
