Stawell Regional Health supports clinical placement opportunities for nursing and allied health students. Stawell Regional Health has placement partnerships with many tertiary education providers across Victoria in addition to multiple registered training organisations. Student placements are planned and co-ordinated in partnership with the universities and occur all year round. Residents and Clients will be advised when they are being attended by students during their hospital stay. Students are supported and fully supervised by qualified educators and trained preceptors in each clinical area.

Stawell Regional Health has student accommodation available for students of all disciplines. Coordinated by Deakin University, the program provides assistance and accommodation for Deakin and non-Deakin undergraduate and postgraduate health professional students who are undertaking clinical or research placements in the Western Victoria region.
This accommodation helps to support undergraduate and postgraduate health professional students on their clinical placement. The accommodation is of a high standard and comes at a low cost for students. It situated at the base of the main hospital building.
